Tasting Note It shows subtle floral aromas with wild berries and hints of smoke. In the mouth it is fresh, with medium tannins, fine red berries, smoky touches and hints of clove and black pepper.
Who?
Fernando was an engineer working in the automotive and wind industry when he fell in love with wine, and did everything within his power to turn his hobby into a profession including becoming Spain’s youngest ever Master of Wine. In his quest to become a winemaker he planted 28 vines in his grandparents’ garden in Alagón, Zaragoza and bought a kit to make his own wine at home, with an ice-based temperature control set that he placed in his bathtub.
Why?
Fernando is one of the new school Spanish wine makers making serious waves in his native country. He is obsessed with Garnacha and searches for disused vineyards in unfashionable regions where he comes in to weave his magic with the old vine fruit.
With?
Fernando’s wines always have wonderful vibrancy and freshness with a minimum amount of oak leading to wonderful purity of fruit. These elements lend themselves perfectly to a myriad of foods. We would quite happily wash down a huge plate of mixed charcuterie, in particular cured meats though the wine would more than hold up against mixed grilled meats and gamer dishes as well.
