Tasting Note The nose is lively with a youthful perfume of ripe strawberries and a touch of fresh mint. On the palate, it is surprisingly full-bodied with good structure, perfectly balanced with a delicate fruit character and zesty, lightly spiced finish.

Who?

Mark Shannon and Elvezia Sbalchiero, the duo behind A Mano, have worked in the wine business for most of their lives. Elvezia is a northern Italian wine marketing expert and Mark is a Californian winemaker. They fell in love with Puglia and, when they decided to start their own label, made it their home.

Why?

We are suckers for a love story and the A Mano label is built on one. Elvezia and Mark not only fell in love with the region of Puglia but also each other in its glorious surroundings. It was the lure of Elvezia and Puglia that convinced Mark to move from his native America. This dynamic duo have succeeded in making Primitivo one of Italy's most talked about grape varieties by producing gorgeous yet inexpensive wines. They pay high prices for the best grapes from 70-100 year old vines and focus solely on quality and a modern style.

With?

Pink fleshed fish such as Salmon or Trout would be a wonderful foil for the lively, youthful character of this wine. Mixed Charcuterie is always a winner with Rosé of all shapes and sizes and if one wishes to go full vego action on the pairing then we’d suggest vegetable shasliks on the BBQ with the smoky and savoury flavours offset by the ripe, pure red fruit characters that the wine displays.
